Originally the “ICE” (In Case of Emergency) concept was developed for basic cell phones, calling for all users to place the letters “ICE” in front of any contacts name, so an emergency responder would know who to call for more information about an unconscious victim. Building on what Bob Brotchie had conceived in 2005, EMS Options, LLC developed smart-phone applications and we are now branding these applications for "Chasing4Life-ICE and Chasing4Lifefamily". These applications allow the user to store all of the critical medical information, contact information, expressed wishes and much, much more, in a very easy to access format on a smart-phone. This allows the emergency responder to treat the patient immediately, without having to call the contact for information!
Chasing4Life will be working with EMS Options, LLC to get the message out about taking the 1stStep2Prep and will be guiding future improvements to the "Chasing4Life-ICE and Chasing4Lifefamily-ICE" applications. Chasing4Life’s expertise and focus on community education, makes this an exceptional collaboration between two organizations, totally focused on “Helping people prepare for that unforeseen emergency!”

The “FIRST” iPhone/iPod app that will talk for a patient, when they can’t! These smart-ICE applications allow the owner to record a message with the most critical medical information that plays immediately upon opening or at the push of a “PLAY’ button. No time is wasted looking through all of the data stored and the owner can give EMS providers instructions on how to use the smart-ICE app more efficiently.
smart-ICE, the single profile application and smart-ICE4family, which stores data for up to (8) profiles, are both available on iTunes.

• Alert EMS button- dials emergency services and sets phone into Alert Mode where an intermittent alarm sounds if the patient becomes unconscious. This piercing alarm can also be used to help locate the owner in a collapse situation.

EMS Options has just released an iPhone application that is sure to help Fire/EMS providers save more lives! Built with Fire/EMS, and Emergency Room personnel in mind, this Iphone application contains all of the critical personal information needed to treat a patient.
Norcross, Georgia May 1st, 2009 - EMS personnel are becoming more and more aware of the capabilities of cellular technology and smart phones. Just as they were trained to look for “Medic Alert Tags” and other medical information alert devices years ago, they are now being taught to look for information stored in digital formats and on cellular phones. Designed by an EMS Director with over 30 years experience as a firefighter/paramedic and emergency room medic, EMS Alert stores all the information that is needed for the EMS crews and ER staff to treat a patient appropriately in an emergency situation.
